Vermont Portraits: 6 Months: Baby McKenna
One of the many things I love about my job is the opportunity it allows me to watch families grow. It is one of the reasons that I do not limit myself to simply wedding or portrait photography. I just love getting to know and becoming friends with my clients and being there to capture their perfect moments and memories as they start and build a life together! I'm kind of like a Family Practice Photographer (minus the PhD).
Just recently Baby McKenna turned 6 months old. It seems like yesterday that we were doing her mom's belly photos! But alas, babies grow and quickly! And Leighann and Justin did not want to miss a single glorious milestone and so they chose to do a Babies First Year portrait session package. Perfect for me because then I got to snuggle McKenna when she was first born, got to tickle her toes and hug her some more at 6 months and look forward to chasing her around the room when she is more mobile at 1 year! I love my job. :)
Without further ado, enjoy some of my favorites from our recent 6 month session. McKenna is sitting up on her own, smiling tons and has a great personality! She also knows what she wants and knows how to get it. ;) Thank you again Leighann and Justin! It was fantastic to see you and get to hang out for a while. xo Kaht

McKenna loves "her doggie" Huxley!

I love this diptych we captured using an image from Leighann's belly session. So sweet!

Sometimes even the best model gets cranky.

What made the tears go away? Applesauce in bed!!

Vermont Portraits: Jack
Meet Jack.
A handsome little guy with an endearing smile, sweet giggle, and a penchant for putting things into his mouth. Hey! That's just how it goes when you're teething. :) Jack will turn one in April, becoming less of a baby and more of a little man. Each day he demonstrates new tricks to his parents and is quickly finding his voice. Crawling has become second nature and keeping up with him on the move is a trick to be mastered! A wonderful baby and a joy to photograph. Enjoy a few of my favorite images below from a recent session. Come summer I would not be surprised if you get to see the rest of Jack's family on here! xo Kaht
Jack had just woken up from his nap when I arrived.

Luckily he woke up cheerful :)

After a quick snack and sweater change, we were on to business!

I mentioned he was hard to keep up with....he would crawl directly at the camera in a split second!

Like his dad, Jack is a (budding) guitar player.

And pianist!

These little shoes are everywhere for kids now. Jack had several pairs, but the moose boots were my favorite!

Everything goes into the mouth....

Everything.

Jack has a great playroom with wonderful light and space!

He also loves to read. It is so sweet to see him sitting there with his book.

Thank you J & Z for letting me photograph your sweet little boy!! xo Kaht

Martina
The last time I saw Brenda and Jeff there was no snow on the ground. It was actually kind of hot. And the bugs were biting us as we took pictures outside of their new home. Afterwards we had ice cream sandwiches as we placed our best guesses at what the next few days would bring. "Labor Day" was just a few days off and Brenda's due date (appropriately enough!) for their first child (not counting the dog Gus or cat George of course!). I was leaning towards a girl and well....I WIN! The darling Miss. Martina graced the world with her sweet presence just a few days past Labor Day.
Just this past weekend Devin and I ventured back to New Hampshire to meet with this wonderful family again and capture Martina at 3 months. As always, it was a great time spent with a wonderful couple and their sweet little girl. Enjoy some of my top favorites. xo Kaht
We arrived just as Brenda and Jeff were getting back from Christmas shopping with baby M. She was so cute and snuggly in her car seat!

I looove Martina's travel bag. Very cool.

Gus was certain this shoot was for him...

Jeff's grandfather built this cradle for HIM when he was a baby. It is a stunning work!

Baby McKenna
When I first met McKenna she was but a few days old. Looking back on those images it is amazing to see how much she has changed in barely a months time! She is still tiny and delicate with beautiful baby features, however, now there is a personality to go with those baby eyes and small hands! She can hold her head up and looks around her surroundings with curious eyes. Babies amaze me :)

Bets were in favor of Leighann having a boy, so when McKenna entered this world...it was an all out shopping extravaganza! One of the adorable hats Leighann found.

Adorable hat #2!

Enjoy the slideshow of images with music by one of my favorite children's music artists: Elizabeth Mitchell.
The session went super smoothly and Mckenna was such a little doll. Perfectly charming and adorable! Leighann and Justin were not so bad to work with again either ;) You are wonderful parents you too! Thank you for sharing McKenna with me again for the afternoon. xo Kaht
